Both Locations Hunter RoadForce Balancing
Most wheel balancers spin the tire in the air and call it done. Hunter's RoadForce technology does something fundamentally different — it presses a load roller against the tire with over 1,200 lbs of simulated road force, replicating the actual weight of your vehicle bearing down on the road. That turns a standard balance into a full diagnostic, revealing problems that a conventional balancer can't find because it never puts the tire under real-world load.
This is the machine for the vibration that won't go away. If you've had your tires balanced and still feel a shimmy at highway speed, a steering wheel shake, or a persistent vibration through the seat, RoadForce is built to find it. It measures stiffness variation in the tire itself and can guide a precise match-mount — repositioning the tire on the rim to cancel the problem at its source rather than masking it with extra weight. It handles the full range of modern assemblies: passenger car tires, light truck and SUV tires, low-profile performance tires, run-flat tires, and oversized truck fitments.
Our Woodlawn Rd location runs the Hunter RoadForce Elite. Our Whitelaw Rd location runs the Hunter RoadForce WalkAway — among the first units installed in Canada when we opened in spring 2025. The balancing technology and diagnostic process are identical at both shops. Equipment is only as good as the technician running it — our team knows how to read what the RoadForce tells them, interpret the data, and apply the right fix. The machine finds the problem. Our technicians solve it.
Whitelaw Rd Location Hunter Revolution Tire Changer
Tire changing looks routine. On a conventional machine, with the wrong assemblies, it isn't. Low-profile tires, run-flat tires, high-performance fitments, wide-body setups, oversized truck and SUV tires, and high-end alloy wheels all carry real risk of bead damage, rim scratching, and TPMS sensor damage on the wrong equipment.
The Hunter Revolution eliminates that risk entirely. It uses a fully leverless design with polymer tools and an automatic mount head that adjusts precisely to each wheel — no metal-on-metal contact, no pry bars, no guesswork. Whether you're running 18-inch low-profiles on a sport sedan, staggered fitments on a performance vehicle, 20-inch alloys on a pickup truck, or run-flat tires on a European luxury car, the Revolution handles the dismount and mount with the same precision every time. Your wheels arrive. Your wheels leave. Without a mark.
The Revolution is in experienced hands at Whitelaw — our technicians know it inside and out, which means your most difficult, most expensive, most damage-prone assemblies are treated with the care they deserve.
Both Locations — TECH Preferred Shop Tech Uni-Seal Tire Repairs
When a tire can be safely repaired, we do it right. Ted's Tire Discounter uses Tech Uni-Seal Ultra patch/plug combination repairs — the industry benchmark for permanent puncture repair. Unlike a simple plug, the Uni-Seal is a one-piece unit that fills the injury channel from inside the tire and patches it simultaneously, then chemically vulcanizes to the tire for a permanent, airtight bond that seals out moisture and contaminants for the life of the tire.
The credibility behind that claim is real: Tech Uni-Seal Ultra repairs were the first tire repair product in the world to pass the FMVSS 139 Endurance Test — the same federal standard every new passenger and light truck tire sold in the US must pass. That test requires a tire to complete 34 hours of continuous operation at 120 km/h under increasing load, followed by an additional 90 minutes at full load capacity while underinflated — conditions designed to push tires to their absolute limits. Passing it with a repaired tire is a serious benchmark. We're proud to be listed as a Tech Preferred Tire Repair Shop, recognizing our commitment to proper repair procedures and quality materials.
Not every puncture can or should be repaired. We follow Tire Industry Association (TIA) guidelines to assess every damaged tire — evaluating the location, size, and angle of the injury before recommending repair or replacement. The TIA has been the leader in tire technician training and certification since 1997, and their repair guidelines exist to ensure a repaired tire is as safe as it was before the damage. We don't cut corners, and we don't repair tires that shouldn't be repaired.
Both Locations Corghi Tire Changers
Every bay at Ted's Tire Discounter runs Corghi A9824TI tire changers as the backbone of daily operations. ISO 9001 certified and run-flat approved by all major tire manufacturers, the A9824TI handles the full spectrum of passenger, light truck, and run-flat assemblies day in and day out. These are commercial-grade machines built for high-volume tire service — tough, reliable, and fast — and they let our technicians work with speed and confidence through a full day of changeovers.
Our Woodlawn Rd location also runs the Corghi Master 28A — a fully touchless tire changer designed for large-diameter wheels and delicate finishes. Handling wheels up to 28 inches with a completely tool-free process, the Master 28A is the right machine for oversized fitments, high-end alloy wheels, and any assembly where finish protection is the priority. No contact with the wheel face. No risk of scratches or scuffs.
